Executive Director

The Executive Director serves as the senior leader of West Palm Beach Mobility Coalition (WPBgo), providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to advance mobility solutions, transportation demand management programs, and partnerships that improve access, reduce congestion, and support economic growth in West Palm Beach. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the organization’s daily operations, implementing Board directed initiatives, managing programs and partnerships, and ensuring the successful execution of WPBgo’s mission and objectives. The Executive Director works closely with local governments, transit agencies, employers, developers, community organizations, and funding partners to improve mobility, reduce congestion, enhance transportation accessibility, and support economic development goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Lead implementation of WPBgo’s strategic vision, goals, and annual business plan. Identify and pursue opportunities to expand transportation programs, services, partnerships, and funding sources. Lead long-term planning efforts to address regional mobility and transportation challenges. Monitor emerging transportation trends, technologies, and best practices. Program Management and Performance Measurement Oversee all transportation demand management programs, commuter services, mobility initiatives, and special projects. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success, including ridership growth, employer participation, emissions reduction, and cost efficiency. Use data and performance results to evaluate outcomes, improve program effectiveness, strengthen accountability, and maximize return on investment. Ensure compliance with federal, state, regional, and local transportation regulations and funding requirements. Lead programs that encourage the use of sustainable transportation options, including public transit, ridesharing, walking, biking, micromobility, and employer transportation commuter benefits, to enhance mobility and reduce single occupancy vehicle trips. Financial Management, Fundraising, and Grant Writing Prepare and manage annual operating budgets. Lead grant writing efforts by identifying funding opportunities, preparing competitive applications, and securing federal, state, local, and private funding to support WPBgo programs. Lead fundraising efforts, securing sponsorships, memberships, donations, and other funding sources to support WPBgo’s financial sustainability. Oversee grant administration, funding agreements, compliance, and reporting requirements. Ensure strong financial accountability, transparency, and compliance with all funding and reporting requirements. Develop and implement strategies to expand and diversify WPBgo’s funding to support organizational goals and program growth. Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary representative of WPBgo with municipalities, county agencies, transit authorities, metropolitan planning organizations, employers, chambers of commerce, and community organizations. Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector partners. Advocate for mobility initiatives and funding opportunities Represent WPBgo at public meetings, conferences, workshops, and community events. Board and Staff Leadership Partner with the Board of Directors to establish organizational priorities, policies, and strategic initiatives. Provide recommendations regarding governance, funding, and organizational growth. Recruit, supervise, and develop staff, consultants, and program partners. Ensure compliance with all personnel policies, employment regulations, and organizational standards. Foster a collaborative and results driven organizational culture. Communications and Public Outreach Lead public awareness, marketing, and community engagement efforts. Promote alternative transportation options including transit, ridesharing, biking, walking, micromobility, and mobility services. Serve as the organization’s spokesperson when appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field. Minimum of 7+ years of leadership experience in transportation, mobility management, public administration, planning, economic development, nonprofit management, or a related field. Experience in grant management, grant writing, budgeting, public and private partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. Experience working with boards of directors, community stakeholders, government agencies, employers, and funding partners. Strong knowledge of Transportation Demand Management, multimodal transportation systems, mobility programs, and transportation funding sources. Excellent leadership, communication, public speaking, and relationship building skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with transportation demand management programs, commuter services, and mobility initiatives that promote transit, ridesharing, biking, walking, and other alternative transportation options. Familiarity with Palm Beach County, South Florida transportation agencies, local governments, and regional mobility initiatives. Experience working with Metropolitan Planning Organizations, transit agencies, employers, developers, and community organizations. This position operates in a professional setting with frequent interactions with public officials, business leaders, community stakeholders, and transportation partners.
