A prestigious and forward-thinking law firm specializing in legal insurance defense is searching for an Associate Attorney to join their team in Brooklyn, NY! This is a unique opportunity for candidates who are eager to learn and develop their legal expertise to get a lot of court experience at a firm with a vibrant culture and reputation for excellence. They are looking for recently barred attorneys with at least 1 year of experience who are active members of the New York bar, preferably with experience in workers’ comp. The position has a flexible hybrid schedule and lots of opportunities to gain experience and grow in your career!
Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 DOE Responsibilities:- Engage in court appearances and depositions, providing the opportunity to directly participate in key aspects of legal proceedings
- Draft and review legal documents, focusing on accuracy and efficiency to support case management and legal compliance
- Participate in case strategy discussions, offering insights and contributing to the development of effective legal strategies
- Shadow senior attorneys in depositions and court appearances to gain firsthand experience, understanding, and proficiency in legal processes
- Conduct detailed reports on medical records as part of comprehensive case preparation and strategy, ensuring thorough analysis and documentation
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Must have 1-3 years of experience as an attorney
- Active status in the New York Bar is required
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus
- Experience in workers' compensation cases is a plus
- Must be adaptable, open to feedback, and eager to learn and progress in the firm
- Litigation and insurance defense experience is preferred
- Knowledge of the Center Base system is a plus
