Make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of an individual student as a dedicated 1:1 Paraprofessional in a vibrant middle school setting near West Hartford, CT. This contract opportunity, available immediately through June 11, is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting students and working collaboratively within a school environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting students with behavioral needs—preferred in a school or educational setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Willingness to complete required state trainings before or after placement
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude in adapting to diverse student needs
- Commitment to working the full contracted schedule: 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM (30 minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to an 8th grade student, helping facilitate academic and social success throughout the school day
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration to implement effective behavioral strategies
- Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, transitions, and school routines
- Document student progress and communicate observations to the educational team as needed
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment, promoting inclusion and student growth
