2026-27 Baseball Head Coach – Pinnacle HS Location: Phoenix, Arizona Starting Date: Feb 8, 2027 Season Dates: Feb 8, 2027 – May 8, 2027 Salary: $3,970.00 Job Details Job ID: 5817423 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Position Type: 1.0 FTE Employment Status: Temporary Job Description The Baseball Head Coach is responsible for designing and implementing the school athletic program, supervising coaching staff and student athletes, providing instruction, and acting as a role model and liaison for the school, district, and community. Essential Functions Assesses student athletes for performance feedback and team placement. Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences to receive and share information related to the role. Conducts supporting activities such as parent orientations, recognition events, and banquets to promote the program. Develops practice regimes for strength, speed, agility, nutrition, and injury prevention to enhance performance. Creates game strategies by analyzing opponent strengths, weaknesses, and athlete abilities. Guides coaching personnel on instructional techniques and practice organization. Identifies program needs and recommends expenditures for equipment and supplies. Implements practice schedules and related events to ensure efficient program operation. Instructs student athletes to promote growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Maintains records of statistics, insurance, permissions, schedules, and equipment inventories. Monitors academic eligibility and coordinates interventions such as counseling and tutoring. Oversees assistant coaches, student managers, and volunteers for direction and monitoring. Promotes the athletic program through clinics, camps, and community meetings. Responds to inquiries from students, parents, school personnel, media, and college representatives. Keeps the athletic director informed of issues affecting the program. Provides appropriate supervision for all athletes and involved students. Explains the PVUSD Athletic Code of Conduct to athletes. Maintains high standards of personal conduct and serves as a role model. Ensures all coaches are cleared through the PVUSD Human Resources Department. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the work unit. Responsibilities The role requires working under limited supervision, directing a small work unit, and utilizing resources from other units as needed. Work Environment The job involves occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Activities require 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. The position involves exposure to temperature extremes and potential injury risk. Experience Job related experience is required. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Equivalency & Certifications Required testing and certifications include a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or Arizona Substitute Certificate and the NFHS Level 2 Certificate.
