Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) at Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, DE. Full‑time day shifts, full‑time/part‑time night shifts, and PRN shifts. On‑site orientation required for at least 3–6 weeks. Shift Differential Weekday (Mon‑Fri) 3p‑11p: $4.25 Weekday (Mon‑Fri) 11p‑7:30a: $5.75 Weekend (Sat/Sun) Day shift 3p‑11p: $3.50 Weekend (Sat/Sun) Evening/Night 11p‑7:30a: $4.50 PRN: $6.00 Schedule Full‑time days Full‑time/part‑time nights (must be available for at least 3 weeks of onsite orientation) PRN (must be available for at least 3 weeks of onsite orientation, 2 shifts per month). Key responsibilities include: Maintain accurate, detailed records and reports. Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions. Record medical information and vital signs. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient’s condition. Consult with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans. Modify treatment plans as indicated. Monitor all aspects of patient care (diet, physical activity). Direct or supervise less‑skilled nursing or healthcare personnel. Prepare patients for examinations or treatments. Instruct families on health education, disease prevention, childbirth, etc. Prepare rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensure adequate stock. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in DE. Active CPR certification. Knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing practice. Completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.
