Job Title MDH - Medicaid Office of Finance - Budget, Accounting and Revenue Grade 16 Location 201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 Main Purpose of Job This position provides accounting and budget support to the Budget, Accounting and Revenue (B.A.R.) Unit in the Office of Finance, Medical Care Programs. Responsibilities include invoice processing and tracking, reviewing purchase requisitions for available funding, supporting budget preparation, quarterly projections, and expenditure management plans. The role also assists in the preparation of fiscal notes, budget initiatives, and other special accounting and budgetary assignments. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in budget preparation, presentation, and execution. Notes on Substitutions Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in budget preparation, presentation, and execution. Candidates may substitute graduate education (30 credit hours) in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science, or public administration for five years of required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service as a commissioned officer in Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience. Desired or Preferred Qualifications Experience preparing budgets and budget projections, including forecasting. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processing, ensuring timely and accurate invoice review and payment processing. Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, with strong skills in reporting and financial documentation.
