08 Position Summary The Clinical Law Program at the UNM School of Law is a law firm where advanced law students represent clients under the supervision of Law School faculty who are licensed attorneys. We are seeking a professional, highly organized individual with strong communication skills to join our administrative support team. We are seeking a professional, highly organized individual with strong communication skills to join our administrative support team. This position plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of a busy academic legal office and provides direct administrative support to multiple law practice areas.
Key administrative support duties include:
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and maintain a professional and welcoming front desk environment
- Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, clients, and members of the public
- Administer the lifecycle of confidential client files through an online case management system
- Provide consistent procedural guidance to clinical law students regarding administrative processes, file maintenance, and office practices
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
- Apply established law office procedures accurately, consistently, and with attention to detail
- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Administrative support experience in an office or educational environment requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures
- Experience with electronic and/or physical records management
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization while following defined workflows and office practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate emails and office correspondence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 in a professional setting
- Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
