Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and responsible Teppan Chef to join our team at Mr. Chubby Topanga. This role is an important part of our back-of-house operations, ensuring excellent food quality, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.

Employment Details

• Hiring Entity: Mr. Chubby Topanga LLC
• Work Location: 600 Topanga Canyon Boulevard Canoga Park CA 91303
• Employment Type: Part-Time, Full-Time
• Wage: $18.5 -$22 per hour plus tips, subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax withholdings.

• Start Date: Upon onboarding completion. All required pre-employment notices and documents will be provided at or before the start date, as required by law.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients daily, including cutting meat, vegetables, and other food items.
• Cook food on the teppan grill according to company recipes and standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after each shift.
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and restocking ingredients as needed.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Work with kitchen team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
• Properly store ingredients and follow FIFO procedures.
• Clean kitchen tools, equipment, and prep areas after use.
• Follow manager or supervisor instructions and support daily kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food prep experience is required.
• Teppan or grill experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be comfortable cutting meat, vegetables, and preparing ingredients daily.
• Basic knife skills are required.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
• Food Handler Certificate required or must be obtained before starting.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
