Commercial Vehicle Powertrain Mechanic
Location: Huntsville, Alabama | Work Location: In person
Keep the fleet movingOur operation depends on reliable trucks. As a Commercial Vehicle Powertrain Mechanic, your craftsmanship and problem-solving ensure every unit leaves the bay ready for the road. You’ll collaborate with a hands-on team, tackle complex engine and electrical challenges, and help maintain a safe, efficient shop environment.
Core impact- Own diagnostics and repairs on semi trucks across engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, suspensions, and HVAC.
- Execute scheduled maintenance—oil and filter services, tire work, alignments, and fluid changes—to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams; leverage electronic testing tools to resolve intricate faults quickly.
- Repair and fabricate parts using hand/power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and precise assembly practices.
- Champion safety by following regulatory standards and best practices for heavy equipment maintenance and shop operations.
- Experience servicing semi trucks or heavy-duty vehicles in dealership or industrial environments.
- Expertise in diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and shocks & struts.
- Diagnostic skill with schematics, manuals, and electronic test instruments.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding/fabrication, soldering, and assembly methods.
- Background in tire service, wheel alignment, brake repair, and general fleet maintenance.
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
