Final Assembly

Job TitleTake job traveler to computer behind wiring racks. Log in and then scan job code with the bar scanner. Click appropriate job according to job position. Bring bed to appropriate bay. Inspect bed for paint imperfections (scratches, strap rubs). Clean all dust from body and the sides. Install the latch assembly for the side gates for folding side gates only. See Monroe work instruction for details. Inspect the tailgate for the gaps at the floor level and the top side post. (1/8" and  max respectfully). If needed then grind the saddle and or the end of the bed at the tops of the posts. Clean all grinding dust and shavings from areas and use small paint brush for touch up paint. If dents or unacceptable scratches are found on the tailgate or the header then will prep area for body work. Sand the dent area or scratch area 2-4" past the surrounding surface area of damage. Clean area and apply Bondo, alloy to dry. Sand Bondo with 120 then 400 grit and the surrounding surface. If the bottom of header sand whole header with 120 then 400 grit, prepping for paint. Based on the location of scratches, will determine the required amount of area needing sanding and prepping for paint repair. After repair work is complete and fully painted. Need to wait for a minimum of 6-8 hours for paint to fully dry before installing auto tape. Spray inside of long members with anti-rust spray and tailgate. Install chains on tailgate. Grease all certs for the tailgate hinge. After body is complete, wipe with Windex and clean rags and prep for Auto Wrap Call QC to verify and check off unit for shipping. Install serial number plates level and square on left side of tailgate handle. Double check to make sure numbers match. Inform Scott or the outside loader operator to move bed to North laydown yard. Stage bed to be loaded for next shipment. Install wood shipping planks in gussets secure with nut and bolt. Make list of beds to be loaded for current weeks shipment. Take to front office for approval of beds and check serial numbers with stock numbers. Check off the list as being loaded on truck. Final check and look over of beds: Check all side gate pins. Making sure gates are securely latched. Check for carter pins and make sure they have been bent. Check for grease certs at rear gate hinge. Both sides. (2 each side)
