Founded in 2007, DTI (Diversified Technology, Inc.) is a successful African American owned IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's Loop. We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Technician Level 2 to provide advanced on-site and field dispatch support for network equipment and infrastructure. This role requires all the skills of a Level 1 Technician plus the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium-complexity systems, provide end-user and peer training, and bring certification-backed expertise to break-fix scenarios. Candidates should have 5–9 years of experience and a strong track record of professional customer-facing support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all Level 1 duties, including equipment troubleshooting, installs, moves, repairs, uninstalls, site surveys, triage, and vendor escort.
• Troubleshoot, operate, repair, and maintain medium-complexity network equipment.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to end users and junior technicians.
• Support break-fix services, leveraging certifications related to supported equipment.
• Rack, stack, install, and cable routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
• Install, terminate, label, and test cabling for telecom circuit demarcation extensions.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to support infrastructure planning.
• Ensure all work is completed with professionalism and strong customer service focus.
• Maintain documentation of work performed, including service tickets and reports.

Qualifications:

• 5–9 years of hands-on experience in networking, IT field support, or infrastructure services.
• Certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or vendor-specific certifications for supported hardware).
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing medium-complexity network equipment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to train both end users and junior staff.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and telecom infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently on client sites with minimal supervision.
• Physical capability to lift and transport equipment over 45 lbs.
• Must work on our W2 (no C2C or 1099).

Work Environment:

• Onsite support required in either Chicago, IL or the New York/New Jersey area.
• Field dispatch work with direct client interaction.
• Opportunity to work on complex networking environments while mentoring and supporting other technicians.

Pay rate: $76.66
