Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a dynamic role supporting schools in the Rockville, MD and Washington DC area as a contract Speech Language Pathologist. This opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 25, 2026, and concluding June 11, 2027. Commitment to on-site services is needed, with full-time hours (35 per week preferred) and a minimum of three days per week if considering part-time. Assignments may include up to two to three schools, with flexible scheduling—such as four days at one school and one at another. Caseloads and grade levels will be matched to your expertise and comfort level, with detailed supervisor discussions ensuring the best fit.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid and current Maryland SLP license (images required upon onboarding)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; clinical fellows (CFYs) considered
- At least one year of school-based experience, unless exceptional references and alternate experience can be provided
- Must complete a House Bill background check
- Willingness to undergo “prescreen” interviews for suitability
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary and middle school students
- Caseloads range: elementary (max 40), middle (approximately 48) and up to 57 at peak year, starting lighter
- Collaborate with special education teams, families, and classroom teachers
- Complete evaluations and regularly document student progress
