AR Specialist - FULLY ONSITE

Location: Houston, TX 77043

Schedule: Monday-Friday with a flexible start time between 7:30-9:00 AM

Pay: $19-$21/hour depending on experience

Overview:

The main focus of the role is medical insurance A/R and claims follow-up. You'll work outstanding insurance accounts, contact insurance companies to determine claim status, research unpaid or underpaid claims, and resolve denials through appeals, corrected claims, and additional documentation.

You'll also work aging reports, maintain detailed notes on payer conversations, post insurance and patient payments, review contractual adjustments, and identify any reimbursement issues or trends. There is a productivity expectation, including keeping 20% or less of assigned A/R over 90 days.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of medical A/R or insurance collections experience
• Strong insurance follow-up and denial resolution experience
• Experience with corrected claims and appeals
• Commercial and/or Medicaid payer experience
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Comfortable using Outlook and standard computer systems

Nice to Have Skills:

• Waystar
• Welligent
• Behavioral health billing experience
• Billing, coding, or RCM certification
