Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Observation

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with an immediate start
• 12-hour variable shifts rotating between 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime billable after 48 hours worked in a week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hourly increments; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, with average patient stays up to 48 hours
• Administer drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Background in observation, med/surg, or telemetry units preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color
• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks in a timely manner, and collaborate with team and ancillary staff
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and flexibility with constant changes throughout a shift
• Traveler must reside outside of 50 miles from the facility

Facility:

This facility is a full-service hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty care services. The Short Stay Observation Unit is an 8-bed unit focused on short-term patient monitoring and treatment, serving patients requiring observation-level care across a variety of medical conditions. The facility supports a collaborative and dynamic work environment, with staff expected to float across multiple inpatient units as needed to meet patient care demands.
