Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for overhauling, simplifying, standardizing, maintaining, and continually improving Avibank's Quality Management System (QMS). This position serves as the site's leader for AS9100 compliance, audit readiness, quality system governance, internal audits, corrective actions, management review, certification management, and regulatory compliance.

The role works across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Laboratory, and Quality to ensure compliance with aerospace, regulatory, and customer requirements while driving a culture of accountability, risk reduction, and continual improvement. The position provides oversight and coordination of Avibank's Nadcap accreditation programs, while designated Subject Matter Experts maintain technical ownership of each accredited process.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Management System

Own and continuously improve the AS9100 Quality Management System. Lead efforts to simplify, standardize, and strengthen quality processes, procedures, forms, records, and controls. Establish clear process ownership and accountability throughout the organization. Monitor system effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive systemic improvements.

Compliance and Certification Management

Lead Avibank's external audit, certification, and compliance programs. Serve as the site lead for all AS9100, FAA, customer, registrar, and government audits by coordinating preparation, execution, auditor interface, and closure of findings.

Maintain organizational audit readiness, oversee certification and surveillance activities, manage compliance risks, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and corrective actions. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies.

Regulatory Compliance

Support compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station, FAA PMA, DCMA, customer-specific, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure quality-system processes align with approved manuals and regulatory obligations. Coordinate responses to regulatory findings and compliance issues.

Internal Audits and Corrective Action

Manage the internal audit program and annual audit schedule. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities using disciplined problem-solving methodologies. Monitor corrective action effectiveness and ensure recurring issues are addressed at their source.

Management Review and Metrics

Coordinate Management Review activities and maintain quality-system performance metrics. Analyze trends, identify risks, develop improvement recommendations, and communicate system performance to leadership.

Document Control and Change Management

Oversee document control processes to ensure controlled documents remain current, accurate, and compliant. Support review and implementation of procedural, engineering, and process changes that impact the Quality Management System.

Training and Continuous Improvement

Develop and deliver training related to the QMS, auditing, corrective action, compliance, and quality-system requirements. Mentor Quality Engineers and process owners on quality-system expectations and best practices. Promote a culture of continual improvement throughout the organization.

Nadcap Program Coordination

Provide oversight and coordination of Avibank's Nadcap accreditation programs, including audit preparation, corrective actions, accreditation renewals, and organizational readiness. Partner with process SMEs, monitor accreditation status, and facilitate communication between Quality, Operations, Engineering, and leadership.

Technical ownership and day-to-day compliance for accredited processes remain with the designated process SMEs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Business, or a related field.
• Eight years of experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Five years of experience in Quality Systems, Quality Assurance, Compliance, or Quality Management leadership roles.
• Experience maintaining an AS9100-certified Quality Management System and leading internal and external audits.
• FAA and Nadcap experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 145, FAA PMA requirements, DCMA, AS9101 auditing requirements, corrective action systems, root cause analysis, document control, risk management, quality metrics, aerospace manufacturing processes, and customer-specific quality requirements.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
