As a Resident Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and service to our customers. You will perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

The work model for the role is: onsite at customer site.

Key Responsibilities

• In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines for our Quality Control Systems (QCS). Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.
• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field and 5+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience required. Or HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of related work/military experience required.
• Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multi-meters. Candidate should know how to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC.
• Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and utilize for troubleshooting electrical systems, and to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment.
• This role will be a resident position working out of the customer location, however needs to be able to travel up to 15% for required training and assisting other sites.
• Knowledge of the pulp & paper industry is a nice to have.

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $77,000 and $120,000 annually.
