Energy Management System Administrator

Salary: $140,400 - 155,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of experience in system administration for Linux and Windows operating systems, along with hands-on work with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
• We prefer prior administration experience with the GE EMS Suite; experience with other EMS platforms such as Hitachi/ABB, Siemens, OSI, or GE PowerOn Reliance is also valuable.
• We require experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Inter Control-Center Communication Protocol (ICCP).
• We require a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A masters degree in one of the listed fields is preferred.

• We provide technical support, system administration, and maintenance for the Energy Management System (EMS) and its related applications.
• We support EMS upgrade environments through multiple testing phases.
• We integrate EMS applications, monitor system health, and carry out routine maintenance.
• We perform both structured and unstructured testing and record defects in the tracking system.
• We partner with the business lead, project manager, and technical lead to share progress updates and feedback.
• We work with the EMS vendor and our GMS development teams to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
• We coordinate with the GMS Applications Engineering teams to deploy fixes and releases across testing environments.
• We monitor EMS systems and applications on an ongoing basis and complete scheduled maintenance.
• We manage database updates and upgrades within EMS environments.
• We assist Operations Engineering, Market Operations, and other business units during acceptance testing for new and enhanced applications.
• We prepare and review technical documentation to support effective EMS use and administration.
• We carry out code builds, patch deployments, and system migrations.
• We set up and test systems with market participants when needed.
• We respond to system outages and operator inquiries around the clock.
• We collaborate with market participants to resolve issues and implement changes.
• We handle emergency recovery and troubleshooting for EMS systems and applications.
• We maintain real-time data collection to support EMS operations.
• We maintain, troubleshoot, and repair EMS systems, applications, and interfaces.
• We identify design issues proactively and drive them to resolution.
• We take part in EMS disaster recovery drills.
• We test, certify, and implement changes in both production and test environments.
• We carry out maintenance and improvement work to strengthen EMS effectiveness.
• We assess the impact of system changes and maintenance activities during planning.

We are offering a remote 12-month contract role supporting grid operations through our Grid & Market Solutions Systems Support Team. The base pay range is $67.50 to $74.50 per hour.
