Job Description

Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse in the Emergency Room provides leadership and on-site nursing care during a designated shift. They supervise staff, ensure compliance with clinical standards, and facilitate effective communication among team members, patients, families, and physicians.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the emergency nursing unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Supervise and support nursing staff, delegating tasks and promoting teamwork.
• Implement current standards of nursing practice and interpret hospital policies to staff and patients.
• Address and resolve conflicts, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor, educate, and role model professional behavior and clinical skills for staff members.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and institutional policies at all times.

Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State RN License.
• Proven experience in Med/Surg, Emergency Room, or charge nurse roles.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to employment.
