Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) – Night Shift | $10K Sign-On Bonus

Location: Hudson, Florida (Bayonet Point)
Facility: Hospital-Based Laboratory
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends

Compensation:

On-Call: $2/hr
Night Differential: $2.50/hr
Salary Range: $27.09 – $37.92/hr (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Night Shift)
Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a hospital-based laboratory team in Hudson, FL. This role involves performing both routine and stat laboratory testing while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of results. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across multiple lab disciplines and be comfortable working independently during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform stat and routine laboratory testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology
• Ensure accurate and timely results using sound clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Interpret and correlate patient results, including delta checks and quality validations
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient records and test results
• Perform quality control procedures and take corrective action when results fall outside acceptable ranges
• Review pending and result logs , resolving outstanding workload or communicating with incoming staff
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Assist in monitoring inventory, reagents, and supplies
• Handle critical values and specimens in accordance with established protocols
• Support compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CAP guidelines )
• Assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor
• Maintain ongoing education, competency, and licensure requirements

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred)
• Active Florida Medical Technologist License OR ability to obtain during hiring process
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist (required)
• Experience in Blood Bank / Immunohematology (IRL) strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and cover multiple lab areas
