THE ROLE

Our family-owned and operated restaurant is looking for a reliable and hardworking Sandwich Maker / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.

Previous Vietnamese cuisine experience is required. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing Vietnamese food, including bánh mì, spring rolls, basic Vietnamese ingredients, sauces, vegetables, and proteins .

This is a hands-on kitchen position where you will be responsible for sandwich preparation, food prep, simple cooking, and supporting the kitchen wherever needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, hardworking, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and assemble Vietnamese bánh mì sandwiches according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare and roll Vietnamese spring rolls .
• Complete daily food preparation, including cutting, chopping, slicing, washing, and portioning ingredients.
• Prepare vegetables, meats, herbs, sauces, and other Vietnamese ingredients.
• Fry appetizers and other menu items as needed.
• Prepare simple food and beverage items.
• Ensure sandwiches and other food items are prepared accurately, consistently, and efficiently.
• Pack takeout and delivery orders carefully and accurately.
• Communicate with servers and other kitchen team members to ensure orders are completed correctly.
• Assist with receiving and properly storing food and produce deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Communicate ingredient, supply, and kitchen needs to supervisors.
• Assist other areas of the kitchen when needed.
• Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous Vietnamese cuisine experience is required.
• Hands-on experience making bánh mì and Vietnamese spring rolls .
• Familiarity with basic Vietnamese food preparation and ingredients.
• Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions.
• Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and consistency.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.

SCHEDULE

• Full-time – 40 hours per week
• One regular day off scheduled between Monday–Wednesday or Sunday .
• Must be available to work during restaurant service hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hands-on kitchen position requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working around hot cooking equipment. The ability to work efficiently and safely in a busy restaurant kitchen is essential.
