Details 241-licensed bed hospital designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center 24-bed Med/Surg Tele unit with an average daily census of 24 Fast-paced observation unit caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and other diagnoses RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6, with surge ratios up to 1:7-8, and CNA ratio of 1:12 12-hour night shift from 7p-7a, 36 hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle Every other weekend rotation required Possible low census call-back up to 3a for night shift or 3p for day shift Floating required within Region 3 facilities (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed within scope of practice Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, and Masimo monitors in all patient rooms Remote telemetry monitoring supported by dedicated tele techs Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required At least 6 months of experience with Epic EMR required Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and administration of non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone General med/surg skillset including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care/dressing changes One professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration Last four digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Unit support includes CNAs at a 1:12 ratio, a charge nurse serving as a resource, phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT coverage, and 24/7 intensivist coverage Hospitalist support is available onsite during day shift and virtually overnight No HUC support is provided on the unit Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental training Holiday coverage requires working 75% of designated holidays Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, though unmet contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract Navy scrub color required Free parking is available onsite Unit culture is described as positive and supportive First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before returning American Traveler Job ID P-741257.
