Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Nashville, Tennessee. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Level III in the neonatal specialty. This position involves providing specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting. The role requires managing infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care. Job Details Certifications and Requirements: Active RN license; BLS certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 4 years of NICU experience; experience with therapeutic hypothermia/cooling is required; must be comfortable managing complex NICU patients independently. Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Clinical Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates; care for infants requiring hypothermia/cooling therapy; manage high-acuity patients on respiratory and hemodynamic support; monitor and manage invasive lines and devices; administer IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products; recognize neonatal deterioration and respond promptly; participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization; conduct comprehensive assessments; collaborate with multidisciplinary team members; provide education and emotional support to parents and families; maintain accurate documentation. Additional Information: Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen required; familiarity with central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC); ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
