Reports to: Lower School Principal & Director of Special Education Hours: 1.0 FTE, Exempt Temporary: 2026-2027 school year Position Overview: The responsibilities of this position will be performed under the direct supervision of the Lower School Principal and Director of Special Education. The Special Education/Resource Teacher will assume the case management duties as determined by the Principal and Director of Special Education. Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to: Evaluations Evaluate students’ skills to identify strengths and needs, measure progress and determine eligibility. (Use standardized and RTI measures) IEPs Develop IEP goals and objectives with parents and teachers and multidisciplinary team members Coordinate planning meetings with parents, teachers, and specialists Assist teachers with the development and carryover of IEP goals into PLP programs Service Delivery Implement IEP goals through remedial programs, classroom accommodations/modifications, and consultation with teachers and specialists Complete quarterly progress reports Maintain up-to-date progress data Modify and/or make accommodations to lessons, projects, groupings, and tests to meet students’ learning needs Employ a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to ensure student understanding Plan, collaborate, and co-teach Develop a Resource Room where students are able to receive services in a small distraction-reduced setting when it is determined that the classroom environment may be too stimulating for these individuals.
