Inventory Coordinator

Full-Time, Hourly | $30-$32/hour based on experience Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM | One-hour unpaid meal break Reports to People & Operations About the Role ONYX Motors is looking for a hands-on Inventory Coordinator to own inventory accuracy and day-to-day inventory control at our Los Angeles warehouse. This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports. The right person will make sure ONYX knows what inventory it has, where each item is located, its condition and intended use, what is available or allocated, what is inbound, and where action is required. This is not simply an inventory-counting role. We need someone who can independently investigate discrepancies, document what happened, correct records through the appropriate approval process, and improve the process that caused the issue. What You Will Own Maintain accurate physical and system inventory for bikes, parts, accessories, and related products. Maintain a complete record for each bike, including serial number, configuration, location, condition, allocation, and use. Clearly distinguish sellable inventory from demos, event or affiliate bikes, returns, service or repair units, and products awaiting QC or approval for release. Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories on schedule, reconcile results, and investigate discrepancies through documented resolution. Prepare supported inventory adjustments and write-off requests with a clear explanation of the cause; obtain required approval before posting or finalizing them. Maintain accurate item, SKU, serial-number, location, condition, and inventory-transaction records across Zoho, Shopify, and related tools. Maintain accurate cost records and help investigate cost discrepancies, while Finance retains responsibility for valuation and accounting decisions. Verify inbound quantities, condition, serial numbers, and documentation against purchase orders or transfer records; document damage, shortages, or other exceptions. Segregate questionable, damaged, returned, or nonconforming stock until the appropriate owner has approved its disposition or release. Ensure transfers, returns, service parts, demos, event units, affiliate units, and all other inventory movements are recorded promptly and accurately. Keep warehouse inventory organized, labeled, countable, and easy to locate. Monitor stock levels, shortages, aging inventory, and replenishment needs; flag risks and recommend replenishment while purchasing approvals remain with the designated approver. Provide reliable inventory reporting and analysis to Operations, Purchasing, and Finance. Inventory owns accurate stock, serial-number, condition, location, status, and allocation records. Fulfillment owns getting customer orders prepared, shipped, tracked, and completed. The systems owner handles technical integrations and system architecture; Inventory owns the accuracy and timeliness of day-to-day inventory data entered into those systems. Finance owns inventory valuation and accounting decisions. Purchasing approval remains with the designated approver. What Success Looks Like Physical and system records are accurate; scheduled cycle counts and physical inventories are completed on time; receipts, returns, transfers, and status changes are updated promptly; and discrepancies are investigated, documented, approved where required, and resolved with a clear root cause and corrective action. What We Are Looking For 3+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory coordination, materials control, warehouse inventory, or a similar role. Demonstrated experience independently investigating inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes, and following issues through documented resolution. Experience controlling serialized products and maintaining accurate unit-level records is strongly preferred. Strong experience with cycle counts, physical inventory, reconciliation, receiving, returns, and inventory adjustments. Experience working with SKUs, item masters, locations, allocations, and inventory transactions. Comfort using ERP, WMS, inventory-management, or e-commerce systems; Zoho and Shopify experience is preferred. Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills and close attention to detail. Comfort working directly in an active warehouse and moving between system work and physical verification. Able to take ownership and resolve problems rather than simply report them. Experience with automotive, motorcycles or powersports, bicycles, hardware, manufacturing, consumer products, e-commerce, or 3PL environments is a plus. Compensation and Benefits $30-$32 per hour, based on experience. 10 days of paid vacation annually. 48 hours of paid sick leave annually. Physical Requirements This is an on-site warehouse role that involves extended periods of standing and walking, regular bending and reaching, and safely lifting or moving products and packages.
