The Marina II Corporation (d/b/a Geist Marina & d/b/a Morse Marina) is seeking a skilled accounting professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, reviewing billing and payment information and answering customer calls. They will also process invoices and remittances, prepare monthly reconciliations, and process bank deposits. Plus, responsible for handling all Accounts Payable duties for multiple entities including preparing and distributing 1099’s.  Billing Marina Village Rents monthly and applying those payments as they are received while reviewing leases for purposes of monitoring rental dates, rental increases and lease expirations.  Recording various journal entries for month-end close, processing new employee hires, and bi-weekly payroll.  Assisting with prep for year-end audit and performing other tasks as determined necessary. 

We're looking for an individual who can take direction well, is highly organized, and has experience with QuickBooks accounting software and experience working in an office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and apply GAAP based accounting
• Assist with the monthly close process, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Process/review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Process payments from customers and allocate to appropriate invoices.
• Maintain accurate records of payments received and funds owed the company by customers.
• Input, file and manage invoices in QuickBooks. Mail/email invoices to customers.
• Respond to customer service requests.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Monitor the progress of an overdue account to determine the best way to recover payment from the customer. Resolve payment disputes (short payments, overpayments, past due, etc.)
• Process daily bank deposits as required.
• Record journal entries for month-end close in QuickBooks and prepare financial statements.
• Other administrative duties as assigned to support the CFO & CEO.
• Report directly to the CFO

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (in Accounting or Finance)
• Licensed CPA preferred, but not required.
• CPA will be required in the future if candidate aspires to get promoted to Asst. Controller, Controller, & CAO (Chief Accounting Officer) at the Company in the coming years.
• 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience or equivalent
• QuickBooks Accounting System Knowledge
• Proficient personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Demonstrates problem solving and analytical abilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates commitment to teamwork
• Highly organized and ability to multi-task
• Capable of working independently, desire to learn new things, positive attitude, and trainable

Physical setting / Work Location:

• In-Office @ Geist Marina Building - (11695 Fall Creek Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm)

Supplemental pay types:

• Annual Bonus Pay in addition to competive market Salary for this role.

Pay Information / Annual Compensation Range:

• The Range of Total Compensation for this role varies depending on number of years of relevant experience in the Accounting field and varies based on level of educational background (Bachelor's Degree in Accounting vs. Master's Degree, MBA, etc.) & whether or not the candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Indiana.
