About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration Description: Position: RN - PCU/MS Float. Must be comfortable working all PCU and MS units. Shifts consist of 3 twelve-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Charting experience with EPIC is required. Floating is required based on staffing needs, which will be re-evaluated every four hours. The traveler may float 2-3 times per shift. Weekend requirement is every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. One holiday must be worked during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are accepted. All requests for time off must be submitted with the application. The facility can call off one shift per two weeks. Required Clinical Skills: Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support, including nasal cannula and CPAP/BiPAP. Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac drips. Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols and administering IV insulin. Experience in telemetry and stepdown-level care is required. Unit Details: The average patient-to-nurse ratio in PCU is 5:1 and in MS is 6:1. Additional Information: Requires experience in BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. Must be familiar with central line management and chest tubes. Background in cardiac post-procedure care is preferred, including pre/post cardiac cath settings. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient-centered care. The position may require floating to different units as needed based on staffing.
