About the Position

The shift hours are 3x12s, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management is necessary. Candidates must have skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care. Medication administration skills, including cardiac drips (without titration), are required. Experience in non-invasive airway management and ventilator care for chronic trach and vent patients is necessary. Candidates should be comfortable activating rapid response and code teams. Knowledge of isolation precautions and telemetry settings across various units is mandatory. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5, with a goal of 1:4. The unit consists of a hybrid model with both PCU and ICU beds. Common patient diagnoses include DKA, COPD, sepsis, chronic respiratory failure, and renal failure. The unit implements tele sitting to enhance patient care tech coverage. Flexibility to float within the skillset is expected. The role may require working on weekends, with a minimum holiday requirement during the 13-week contract. Travelers are welcomed, and previous charge experience is preferred.
