About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings. Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management. Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care. License: Active RN license required from a non-compact state. Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Epic charting experience required. Willing to float within skillset. Must work one holiday per 13-week contract. Accept first-time travelers. Description: The position involves working in a Pulmonary/GI PCU. Shift hours are 3x12 from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. You may be required to work every other weekend or up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included with your submission. Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks. You will care for adults and geriatrics with a daily census of 27 patients. The unit does not have ventilator support. Floating may be required to other PCU or medical-surgical units. You will utilize rapid response/code teams and adhere to isolation precautions. Common IV medications include Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, and Insulin (protocol). You will provide respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management. The unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Must work without CNA support. Experience with managing dysrhythmias and IV medication protocols is critical for this role.
