The shift consists of three 12-hour night shifts. Charting will be performed using the Epic system. Weekend requirements may include working every other weekend or six shifts in a six-week block. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront. The facility has a policy that allows for one shift to be called off every two weeks. The nurse must work one holiday during the contract duration. First-time travelers are welcome to apply, and local candidates are also accepted. Candidates must have experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Understanding of dysrhythmias and activation of rapid response/code teams is essential. Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration is required. Nurses will manage cardiac drips and provide respiratory support when needed. The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients with a focus on chest pain management. The typical patient care ratio during the day is 1:5. The unit may require floating based on skillset.
