About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum years of experience: 1 year in PCU or similar settings. License: - Valid state RN license required. Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience required. - Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. - Experience in telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings. Description: The RN will work in a general medicine PCU. The shift hours are 3x12, from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. All time-off requests must be submitted ahead of time. The facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. RNs are required to work one holiday during the contract period. First-time travelers are accepted. The unit consists of a 25-bed medical unit. Ratios on the unit may reach 1:5 but aim for 1:4. Patient care includes those with acute and chronic illnesses. Telemetry is monitored remotely but still available on the unit. Floating to other PCUs or medical-surgical units may be required. Skills required also include administration of cardiac drips and central/peripheral line care. Respiratory skills including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management are essential. The unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The daily patient census averages around 20 patients. Special equipment utilization will include telemetry monitors. Candidates are expected to demonstrate competency in various nursing procedures and protocols. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and collaboration with a healthcare team.
