About the Position

License: Active state or compact RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Cardiac monitoring - Emergency response - Dysrhythmia interpretation/management - IV therapy - Phlebotomy - Blood product administration - Central/peripheral line care - Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management - Neuro PCU experience - Isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and stepdown units Description: This position involves working in a telemetry PCU specializing in the care and management of patients requiring stroke and neurology care. The unit is certified as a primary stroke center. Staffing ratios are typically 1:5, with a goal of 1:4. Floating within your skillset may be required. The unit manages various IV drips and employs remote telemetry with monitors remaining on the unit. A focus on interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates should be prepared to work six weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling block. Working one holiday per 13-week contract is required. Candidates with previous travel experience are preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered. RTO requests should be submitted with the application. This position demands commitment and adaptability, as the role involves caring for both stroke/neuro patients and general medicine overflow. Experience in isolation precautions and the ability to manage multiple patient needs effectively are critical for success in this role.
