Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

This role involves safely operating forklifts and handling materials to support warehouse operations, including order pulling, staging, inventory inspections, and shipping and receiving activities on a second-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Pull customer orders accurately from the warehouse using sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts.
• Operate sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts to move, stage, and organize materials throughout the facility.
• Stage products in designated areas to prepare for shipping, loading, or further processing.
• Review inventory levels and conduct inspections of products to ensure accuracy, quality, and proper labeling.
• Enter orders manually and process transactions using an RF scanner to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Perform loading and unloading of trucks and other vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including lifting, moving, and placing items in appropriate locations.
• Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments as needed.
• Work independently to complete assigned tasks and maintain productivity standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines to keep equipment, products, and colleagues safe.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience working in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Strong forklift operating skills with approximately 80% of duties involving forklift use.
• Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts.
• Proficiency operating stand-up reach forklifts.
• Hands-on experience with RF scanners for order entry and inventory transactions.
• Experience n basic warehouse operations, including order picking, staging, and materials handling.
• Ability to handle shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading.
• Capability to work comfortably and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual communication skills in Spanish.

• Experience with order picking and staging in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working on a consistent second-shift schedule from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
• Attention to detail when inspecting products and verifying inventory.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and equipment handling guidelines.

The environment includes active shipping and receiving areas, storage racks, and staging zones. You can expect to be on your feet, moving throughout the facility, and working around powered industrial equipment while following all safety rules and guidelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
