Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care to deliver comprehensive patient management in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide safe, effective nursing care while collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in coordination with healthcare professionals.
• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients, including medication administration and wound care.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and medical measurements, responding to adverse reactions appropriately.
• Prepare and manage medical equipment, including adjusting devices and recording measurements.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care protocols.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital or post-acute facility within the past year.
• Current New York State RN license with primary source verification.
• Proficiency in physical assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, and infection control.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and post-operative patient care.
• Certification in AHA BLS; ACLS preferred for Queens location.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
