Director of DevelopmentThe mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of the next generations, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the State of Israel.The Director of Development is a senior fundraising professional responsible for leading all philanthropic activities within an assigned region. This individual develops and executes a comprehensive regional fundraising strategy, manages a portfolio of major donors and prospects, and works closely with Regional Directors, volunteer leadership, and the national Development team to achieve ambitious fundraising goals. The Director of Development serves as a strategic partner to regional leadership and acts as a trusted advisor to donors, helping them align their philanthropic interests with the IAC's mission and priorities. This is an entrepreneurial, externally facing role requiring exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, and a demonstrated ability to secure transformational philanthropic investments. The Director of Development reports to the Chief Communities & Growth Officer and works closely with Regional Directors and senior organizational leadership.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop and implement the annual regional development plan aligned with the IAC's national fundraising priorities.Identify new philanthropic opportunities and expand the regional donor pipeline.Analyze fundraising performance and adjust strategies to maximize results.Create annual revenue forecasts and monitor progress toward goals.Manage a portfolio of major donors and high-capacity prospects through all stages of moves management, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal.Develop and execute individualized strategies to secure five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts.Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals and key performance indicators.Build long-term relationships with philanthropists, family foundations, corporations, donor-advised funds, and community leaders.Prepare compelling proposals, gift agreements, stewardship reports, and impact communications.Design and execute meaningful donor stewardship plans that strengthen engagement and inspire increased giving.Partner with senior leadership to cultivate strategic donor relationships.Represent the IAC at donor meetings, community gatherings, and regional events.Serve as a passionate ambassador for the organization's mission and impact.Lead fundraising strategy for regional galas, leadership receptions, parlor meetings, donor briefings, and mission-related events.Collaborate with Regional Directors and volunteer leadership to maximize sponsorships, ticket sales, and philanthropic giving.Leverage events as opportunities to cultivate new donors and deepen existing relationships.Maintain accurate donor records, moves management activities, and revenue forecasts in the organization's CRM.Utilize data and analytics to guide fundraising strategy and portfolio management.Prepare reports, dashboards, and pipeline updates for senior leadership.Skills/QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree or CFRE certification preferred.Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including major gifts.Demonstrated success securing and closing five-, six-, and preferably seven-figure philanthropic gifts.Proven experience managing complex donor portfolios & sophisticated moves management strategies.Strong understanding of principal gifts, annual giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, and planned giving opportunities.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, volunteer leadership, and governing boards.Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and project management skills.Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.Advanced proficiency with CRM systems and fundraising analytics.Knowledge of the Israeli American and broader Jewish philanthropic community strongly preferred.Fluent English required; conversational Hebrew strongly preferred.Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel throughout the assigned region and nationally as needed.Key Performance IndicatorsSuccess in this role will be measured by:Achievement of annual and quarterly fundraising revenue goals.Growth in major gift revenue.Expansion of the regional donor pipeline.Increased donor retention and donor upgrades.Successful acquisition of new major donors.Execution of high-impact fundraising events.Accurate CRM management, reporting, and forecasting.Strengthened engagement of volunteer leadership and strategic partners.Compensation & BenefitsThe Israeli-American Council offers a competitive compensation package, comprehensive health benefits, retirement plan, generous paid time off, professional development opportunities, and the chance to be part of one of North America's fastest-growing Jewish nonprofit organizations.
