Project Accountant- Construction

$100,000–$110,000 Base + Discretionary Bonus + Excellent Benefits Are you a construction accounting professional who enjoys digging into project costs, partnering with operations, and making a real impact? Our client, an 85-year-old, well-established roofing contractor , is experiencing exciting growth and is looking for a Project Accountant to join their team. This is an opportunity to step into a stable organization with a strong reputation while helping modernize project accounting processes and partnering closely with Project Managers to improve project profitability. What You'll Do Manage project accounting from project start through closeout Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Perform month-end close responsibilities Process and track lien releases Prepare and manage AIA billing Conduct detailed project cost analysis with a strong focus on cost-to-complete reporting Support percentage-of-completion (cost-to-cost) accounting Monitor project financial performance and identify cost variances Partner with Project Managers to improve financial visibility, forecasting, and project profitability Help coach and guide PMs on cost flow, budgeting, and financial accountability What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field- REQUIRED 7+ years of accounting experience Construction accounting experience REQUIRED Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion (cost-to-cost) accounting Experience with project accounting, WIP reporting, and cost analysis Experience working within an ERP system (Viewpoint Spectrum, Sage Intacct, or similar preferred) Strong communication skills with the confidence to collaborate with and challenge project teams when needed Technology Current ERP: Viewpoint Spectrum Company is implementing ServiceTitan and Sage Intacct as part of a company-wide modernization initiative Local Candidates Only Please Note: This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
