Work Environment

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work onsite at our Assisted Living Facility, providing a supportive and engaging work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose patients' mental health conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide treatment strategies.
• Administer medication management including prescribing, monitoring for side effects, and ensuring the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Work closely with primary care providers and additional healthcare team members to create and implement integrated treatment plans that encompass holistic patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients experiencing acute distress, ensuring timely and compassionate responses to their needs.
• Participate in community outreach programs and educational initiatives aimed at raising mental health awareness and reducing stigma in the local community.
• Provide therapeutic support through individual counseling and psychoeducation, assisting patients in developing coping strategies and improving mental resilience.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that all documentation is updated and reflects the clinical services provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with a diverse group of individuals and families, ranging from children to seniors, addressing a spectrum of mental health challenges. Our patient population includes those dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other behavioral health issues. Your expertise will be pivotal in understanding cultural influences on mental health and tailoring interventions accordingly.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a focus on psychiatric care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a community health center or similar environment is highly preferred.
