Principal RF Engineer

Location: Multiple North American Sites - Hybrid Working Package: up to $215,000 base DOE + Full Benefits Start Date: August 2026 iO Associates are partnered with a well-funded commercial space company with an established, operational satellite network and a deployed, revenue-generating product. They need a Principal RF Engineer to own the algorithmic core of their global RF geolocation capability. This is a signal processing and estimation theory role (rather than hardware) with direct, immediate impact on a system already generating real world results. You will work with satellite data that is imperfect and sparse and apply deep expertise in DOA/FDOA/AoA techniques to drive geolocation accuracy at scale. You will own: The algorithm roadmap, from research and prototyping through to production deployment. TDOA, FDOA and AoA algorithm development and optimisation on live satellite data. Incorporating orbital mechanics, Doppler dynamics, and ionospheric effects into geolocation models. Python based simulation, data analysis and performance improvement. You must have: Proven hands on experience with TDOA, FDOA and/or AoA geolocation techniques. Solid experience in Kalman filtering, maximum likelihood estimation and Bayesian methods. MSc minimum in Electrical Engineering/ Physics/ Applied Mathematics/ Aerospace Background in SIGINT / EW / GNSS / passive radar / satellite signal processing. Ideally experience working with real world, imperfect data. Must have US Citizenship or Green Card. No sponsorship available. This role is being managed exclusively.
