Regional Medical Director

Regional Medical Director – Clinical Governance & Interventional Psychiatry (50/50 Hybrid / North Carolina) Company Overview Aurora Wellness is a modern, tech-forward, and rapidly expanding behavioral health practice. As we scale our advanced interventional programs—focusing on treatment-resistant depression and Spravato (Esketamine) therapy—into the North Carolina market, we are seeking a visionary Regional Medical Director to co-build our local footprint, spearhead clinical staffing, and oversee regional governance. We provide an elite administrative and BPO operations layer that handles 100% of the insurance prior authorizations, billing, and scheduling. This leaves you completely unburdened to focus your time evenly between premium patient care and executive regional leadership. True 50/50 Balance: Spend half your week driving clinical excellence, staffing, and regional governance, and the other half providing specialized interventional patient care Total Operational Insulation: We strip away the non-clinical headaches. Our corporate infrastructure manages REMS program compliance, marketing, facilities management, and billing, protecting your time for high-level leadership Flexible Hybrid Model: Maintain an agile schedule with dedicated on-site days at our state-of-the-art North Carolina clinic for team collaboration and interventional oversight, balanced with remote blocks for administrative leadership and telehealth Key Responsibilities 1. Clinical Governance, Staffing & Management (50%) Team Building & Recruitment: Partner closely with corporate executive leadership to interview, select, and onboard a high-caliber North Carolina team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and LCSWs. Clinical Supervision & Mentorship: Provide direct clinical oversight, regular chart audits, and case consultations for regional mid-levels and therapists, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic and prescriptive integrity under North Carolina nursing and medical board regulations. Regulatory & Compliance Leadership: Serve as the local clinical authority to ensure strict adherence to state medical guidelines, collaborative practice agreements, and safety protocols for interventional modalities (including Spravato) Quality Assurance: Drive initiatives to optimize patient outcomes, maintain clinical documentation standards, and foster a collaborative, continuous-learning culture across the local team 2. Advanced Direct Patient Care (50%) Interventional Program Oversight: Evaluate and manage clinical intake and medical administration protocols for clients undergoing Spravato (Esketamine) treatments within our specialized North Carolina clinic environment Complex Psychopharmacology: Provide high-quality diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based medication management for adult outpatient populations experiencing severe or treatment-resistant mood disorders Coordinated Care: Maintain a highly efficient, targeted clinical schedule, working in tandem with Aurora's dedicated therapists and administrative coordinators Requirements Credentials: Board Certification in Psychiatry (MD or DO) Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine from the North Carolina Medical Board with an active DEA and state-specific registration Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, or supervising a multidisciplinary clinical team (Psychiatrists, NPs, and/or Therapists) Clinical Expertise: Deep familiarity with treatment-resistant depression and mood disorders. Prior experience with interventional psychiatry or a strong desire to lead an advanced modality clinic is required Tech-Forward Mindset: Highly comfortable navigating modern cloud-based EHRs, secure asynchronous communication platforms (e.g., Slack), and data-driven practice workflows.
