Project Manager I

Project Managers provide outstanding independent project management skills from project administration to scheduling and cost control to estimating and closeout of job. Review estimates and bids for proper scope coverage and efficient production. Coordinates with the logistics team and use logistics software, XBE, to plan daily work. Assist in managing project schedule throughout course of design and/or construction process through completion. Ability to participate in preconstruction services, including estimating. Schedule sub-contractors and work with Prime. Monitor the progress of the construction activities with periodic on-site inspections, track potential disputes and claims, procure punch list for the project, perform inspections, and resolve any deficiencies. Collaborate with other Project Manager(s) to find alternative solutions. Collaborate and monitor Superintendent(s) performance on contracts and/or work orders. Collaboration of project safety plan with Superintendent(s). Ability to communicate effectively with management staff, company project staff, vendors, contractors, and owners on any issues/problems related to the project. Skills in listening, problem solving, and running effective meetings with the ability to be open-minded. Act as a liaison between the company and external contacts, municipalities, etc. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Must be able to read and understand paving design and specifications. Ability to handle emergency situations with a calm attitude. Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies. Good computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Good driving record. Ability to assist in other work-related areas as necessary. Willingness to travel around the state of Iowa as needed, as well as work approximately 50 hours per week.
