It administers the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowers consumers through health care transparency initiatives. The Work You'll Do The Long‑Term Care Services Unit is seeking a Health Services and Facilities Consultant who is dependable, flexible, and can thrive in a setting requiring attention to detail and managing time‑sensitive tasks. The position’s hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with possible adjustments. The primary duties include processing licensure applications for providers regulated by the Long‑Term Care Services Unit, interpreting statutes and administrative rules, operating database and document management systems, and responding to inquiries verbally and in writing. Additional duties are: Process licensure documents for initial, change of ownership, renewal, and in‑license changes, including communication with applicants and Agency personnel. Receive and review applications, prepare omission notices, verify data, address cash issues, verify business registration and background screening. Issue registration certificates or initiate legal action when applications are complete. Enter data in Versa Regulation (VR) and upload documentation in Laserfiche (LF); update VR and ASPEN with changes. Address application cash issues, refunds, late payments, and fines. Review and update survey information in LF, VR and ASPEN; coordinate with field office personnel. Work with Agency field offices and attorneys on regulation issues and administrative actions. Respond to telephone and email inquiries; provide technical assistance to applicants. Help locate information and application documents on the Agency website and keep them up to date. Provide information on licensure requirements to the public, registered providers, other agencies, and field office personnel. Inform supervisor of needed clarification on policy issues; cross‑train in other licensure areas. Prepare draft notices of intent to withdraw or deny applications and for sanctions; set up complaints in Versa Enforcement. Complete other assignments such as public record requests and CorrFlow; participate in job‑related training. Attendance is essential; the role may require work on weekends, holidays, or during emergencies, including potential work in other counties. Compensation : This position will be filled at $1,833.39 biweekly and is non‑negotiable. Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office, Aspen, Versa, and Laserfiche. Ability to access state rules within Florida Statutes and Administrative Code. Experience initiating Agency activities related to bill analysis and rule writing. Effective written and verbal communication, including participation in group meetings. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. Skill in managing a challenging workload efficiently, meeting statutory time frames. Ability to work independently and apply problem‑solving techniques. Understanding and applying Agency and Bureau rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of professional health care licensure, regulation, or certification experience; or Two (2) years of professional experience relating to health care delivery or health care administration. Preference will be given to applicants with: A bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university. One or more years’ experience working as a licensed health care professional, or professional experience in health care administration, planning, or other related programs. Two or more years’ experience in technical writing. Two or more years’ experience interpreting statutes and administrative rules.
