Substitute Custodian

Custodian PositionPerforms a variety of work in connection with the custodial, grounds cleanup, and light maintenance at a school campus, classroom, multi-use, office, or related facilities. Essential duties include cleaning, dusting, and disinfecting restrooms, removing trash and waste, cleaning public entry and use areas, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, maintaining safe and clean walkways and grounds, rearranging furniture and equipment, participating in major cleaning projects, securing entry and exit doors, communicating maintenance needs, documenting work activities, checking emergency equipment, inspecting and making minor repairs, maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring proper labeling of cleaning products, and obtaining necessary training and certifications.Qualifications: Requires thorough knowledge of custodial care methods, materials, tools, and equipment, working knowledge of building and grounds, basic knowledge of school schedules, work hazards, chemical safety, fixture repairs, reading and writing ability, human relations skills, ability to follow directions, perform maintenance tasks, work independently and collaboratively, apply district policies, respond to emergencies, obtain hazardous materials training, and first aid and CPR certification. Education and experience include a high school diploma or GED and one year of prior custodial experience preferred.Application Requirements: Resume, high school diploma or GED.
