Valet Attendant - Sheraton San Diego (Seasonal) $17.75/HR + Tips

Job Details Compensation: Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. The hourly base pay range for this position is $17.75 per hour plus tips with a $2.25 shift differential based on overnight service. Work schedule: Monday through Sunday. Summary The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. This includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, and assisting guests with luggage, including delivery and pick‑up during arrival and departure. Essential Functions Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor and uses guest last names during interactions. (25%) Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location, practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette, and posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks. (10%) Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed, and opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. (20%) Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms, and amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area; delivers messages, items, and guest amenities as requested; shuttles guests to approved locations. (10%) Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival, issues claim checks after receiving vehicle keys, collects claim checks from all guests before issuing keys, maintains ticket information (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, claim check receipt), records location on key tags, and calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when required. (35%) Total amount of time for all functions of the job - 100% Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED Required Licensure, Certification, etc. Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from that state (as applicable) Work Experience One (1) month related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Skills Ability to read and write standard English language Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees Ability to add and subtract three‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money Ability to understand 24‑hour and military time systems Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed Operating a manual transmission is highly desirable Perform parallel parking Scope Authority to Act Job is fairly routine; follows established practices and procedures; decisions made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines; errors could affect efficient operation Budget Responsibility The employee has control over available resources only. Working Conditions & Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, run, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting requirements: up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, or up to 20 pounds of force constantly. Working environment: Majority of work performed outdoors for extended periods, including the full shift; subject to extreme heat and cold; weather protection may be provided but not guaranteed.
