Supervisor - Commercial Card Client Advisors

Job Overview UMB’s bottom line is directly impacted by the growth of our commercial loan portfolio and revenue–generating lines of business in Treasury Management and Commercial Card. The Commercial Client Advisor Supervisor manages the Commercial Card Client Advisor team, serves as their point of escalation for client issues, and reports to the Manager of Commercial Card Programs Service & Support. This role provides expertise, training, and support for the team and ensures client satisfaction throughout the life of commercial payment relationships. Key Responsibilities Serve as the subject‑matter expert and point of contact for the Commercial Client Advisor team. Consult, research, and recommend solutions for complex card program inquiries, issues, and escalations. Escalate client or internal issues to the Manager as needed and manage follow‑up to ensure resolution. Assist with onboarding and training of new hires, and keep policies, processes, and procedures updated. Track client issues and resolutions, working with resources to maintain best practices. Provide proactive communication with clients and internal partners regarding client experience and best‑practice expectations. Deliver training and education on program tools and best practices through in‑person and other communication channels. Manage the PTO calendar and daily/monthly assignments for the team. Conduct monthly one‑on‑ones, Next 90, and team meetings. Identify process improvement and program growth opportunities through root‑cause analysis. Complete special projects as assigned and other duties as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of credit card program or financial services experience. Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to translate client needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot routine technical and end‑user system tool issues. Effective management of multiple requests, concerns, and problems with a professional approach and attention to detail. Demonstrated end‑to‑end ownership, drive for results, and focus on client service. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with multiple leadership levels. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of client relationship management, customer service, and sales experience in a related field. Functional knowledge of the credit card industry, commercial card programs, servicing, and operations. Understanding of online banking platforms (ACH, EFT, Wire Transfer), UMB Commercial Card, Commercial Card Center, and FIS. Exposure to ERP and basic accounting systems.
