Pharmacist Inpatient

New Pharmacy Position

Position for our new Newport outpatient pharmacy opening soon.

Assists management in monitoring the operations and productivity of assigned department(s). Supervises staff, coordinates activities with leadership and provides support for the efficient and effective delivery of quality services. Performs the duties of Pharmacist as prescribed by state and federal statues as well as Samaritan Health Services policies. Prepares and dispenses medication; assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics). Provides drug information to the medical team. Educates patients.

Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required. One (1) of the following required: Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy practice or one (1) year pharmacist experience. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire. Leadership experience preferred. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.

Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages. Systems Analysis/ Evaluation - Knowledge of how a system works and how changes will affect outcomes. Ability to identify measures of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance to meet certain goals.
