Customer Development Manager - Wakefern

Job Title Customer Development Manager – Wakefern Location New York, New York, United States (Remote role; occasional onsite work at the NewYork office preferred) Travel 25% of time required. Role Overview As Customer Development Manager for Wakefern , you will own sales objectives on volume, spending and retail execution, formulate and execute strategic plans to maximize volume, profitability and customer service, and have direct oversight of the business P&L. You will collaborate with direct reports and cross‑functional partners to deliver account strategies, champion solutions, and leverage consumer insights to drive incremental growth that aligns with retail, brand and shopper insights. Responsibilities Identify opportunities for products and programs, develop customer marketing strategies incorporating consumer insights, and stay aware of competitor landscape to create win‑for‑all promotional strategies. Establish and nurture partnerships with direct reports, cross‑functional teams, brokers and the customer retail team; coach and develop junior talent. Influence internal and external partners through collaboration, negotiation and thought leadership. Seek creative solutions to improve results; adapt strategy, revisit objectives, analyze pre‑ and post‑evaluation and ROI to refine future plans. Highlight business trends per account through fact‑based analysis—brand share, pricing, promotion levels, trade class development—to evaluate investment levers. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. 4+ years in sales or related roles. Experience with a syndicated service (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) account. Previous people‑leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in consumer packaged goods. Direct prior experience with Wakefern/ShopRite. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs). Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $86,000.00 – $137,000.00 USD. Pay is based on experience, qualifications and location. Eligible employees may receive discretionary bonuses, profit‑sharing and, for executive‑level roles, long‑term incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and paid parental leave. Employees participate in a 401(k) plan with company matching, as well as paid vacation (minimum 15 days for salaried employees), 13 paid holidays, and sick leave in accordance with local laws.
