Commercial Loan Officer

The client is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer for the greater Tampa, Florida market. This role focuses on developing new commercial loan and deposit relationships while supporting the profitable growth of the portfolio through strong client engagement and disciplined risk awareness. Responsibilities include developing and managing relationships with commercial banking clients within assigned business segments and/or geographic areas; meeting or preferably exceeding sales goals across deposits, loans, fee income, and new business revenue; participating in community events to increase visibility and generate opportunities; and partnering with the Commercial Credit Department to create credit presentations. The role also involves managing overall relationship profitability and portfolio risk, developing and using referral sources, presenting customer financial information to relevant committees, and cross-selling appropriate bank products and services to commercial customers. The ideal candidate will adhere to confidentiality, ethics, and all applicable loan compliance policies and procedures. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and three or more years of retail bank operations experience; a college degree is preferred. Additional qualifications include strong sales ability (and sales management capability), proven relationship skills, knowledge of business loan and deposit products and general small business needs, effective written and oral communication, strong customer service, and solid PC skills with proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite. Small business lending experience is a plus, and the role may include supporting the training and development of commercial lending and support staff. Confidential
