Position Overview

The Property Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties. This individual will work closely with Property Managers and company leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain the integrity of financial records, and provide exceptional support to both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations and tenant billings.
• Process accounts payable and monitor accounts receivable.
• Assist with lease abstracting and ensure lease compliance.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and amortization.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for property owners.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Work closely with Property Managers to ensure the financial performance of each asset is accurately reported.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and company policies.
• Utilize  Yardi property management software for daily accounting functions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Property Accountant within commercial real estate.
• Strong understanding of commercial property accounting principles.
• Experience preparing financial statements and monthly reporting packages.
• Knowledge of CAM reconciliations, lease abstracting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proficiency with  Yardi is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
