The technologist executes all required procedures while operating specialized equipment. They provide clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills. Responsibilities include educating patients regarding the exam, ensuring privacy and comfort, and following infection control and safety guidelines. Diagnostic or screening mammograms are performed as specified. Preparation and assistance to the Radiologist during intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies, is required. High-quality films are produced for evaluation by the Radiologist, with appropriate documentation completed. Obtaining pertinent patient information and disseminating subsequent preparation instructions is part of the job.
