Senior Enterprise Account Executive - Neocloud

Location This position can be onsite or hybrid from one of our offices (College Park, MD; Bothell, WA) or fully remote in the U.S. Travel Up to 40 % required. The Role We are looking for a Senior Quantum Sales Executive to join the U.S. Go‑To‑Market team. The role is a senior individual contributor focused on selling IonQ’s offering—including quantum hardware, software, applications, and access—to a curated set of clients in HPC, AI model development, and neocloud providers. The position may evolve into team leadership. Responsibilities Develop and own strategic relationships at the executive level (CTO, VP of Infrastructure, Head of AI Research) with neocloud providers, HPC centers, and hyperscalers. Build a pipeline of sales opportunities focused on hybrid quantum‑classical architectures, integrating IonQ hardware into existing AI clusters and exascale environments. Lead sales of quantum networking solutions, targeting quantum‑safe data‑center interconnects and secure model‑training environments. Qualify opportunities based on technical feasibility, financial considerations, and strategic alignment with the AI/HPC industry. Own the entire sales lifecycle from architectural discovery to RFP response for government/private tenders, to final contract execution. Collaborate internally to secure support from the broader IonQ organization for high‑value opportunities. Partner with Customer Success to ensure high satisfaction, drive renewals, and identify expansion revenue. Requirements Minimum ten years of GTM experience selling to the HPC or GPU cloud infrastructure industry, with quota‑carrying responsibilities and a proven record of closing $10 M+ hardware or CAPEX‑heavy deals. Experience selling supercomputers, AI accelerators (TPUs/LPUs/GPUs), or high‑speed InfiniBand/optical networking. Existing network of relationships within AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI), neocloud providers (e.g., Coreweave, nscale), and hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI). Proven ability to sell frontier infrastructure beyond standard CPUs/GPUs and convince buyers of the necessity of quantum acceleration. Strong problem‑solving skills for complex data‑center integration challenges, including cooling, power constraints, and rack‑scale deployment. Undergraduate degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field. Preferred Qualifications Senior‑level relationships with key decision makers in neocloud and foundation model leadership. Deep understanding of AI scaling laws and how quantum computing can address bottlenecks in training, optimization, or high‑dimensional data processing. Knowledge of quantum algorithms (e.g., QAOA or VQE) for neural‑network optimization or hardware‑efficient AI training. Experience selling high‑end cybersecurity or networking infrastructure, with knowledge of post‑quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution. Compensation The approximate on‑target earnings range for this position is $363,200 – $476,700, including base, bonus, and equity. Compensation is calibrated for education, qualifications, experience, location, and market data.
