Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by providing essential speech and language services in a supportive school setting near Westport, CT. This full-time, contract position covers the entire school year, working with a diverse group of young learners to foster communication skills and empower their growth.
Ideal candidates will be skilled at designing and implementing effective therapy plans and value collaborative teamwork to enhance educational outcomes. You will have the opportunity to build lasting connections with students, families, and staff while carrying out meaningful interventions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Eligibility for Connecticut state licensure as an SLP
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to design and individualize therapy for a variety of communication needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and school staff
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other professionals to support student goals
- Maintain accurate, timely progress notes and required documentation
- Offer guidance to families regarding progress and ongoing strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and continuing education in speech-language pathology
